Delete your ViYomi data
ViYomi by APP4EVERYONE · viyomi@app4everyone.com
How to delete
Deletion is done inside the app, on the parent's phone, and takes less than a minute:
- Open ViYomi.
- Tap the gear in the corner of the screen.
- At the bottom of the settings screen, tap Delete all data (in Hebrew: מחיקת כל הנתונים) and confirm.
In an older version of the app, the gear first asks for the four-digit settings code, and the deletion is confirmed twice.
Deletion is immediate: it removes the family from the server and the data from the phone, and it cannot be undone. From that moment no message or call goes to any contact.
Deleting the data does not cancel the subscription to the paid version, which is canceled in Google Play.
Uninstalling the app does not delete the data on the server. If the app is removed without deleting first, the server keeps waiting for a press every morning, and the contacts keep receiving alerts. Delete first, then uninstall.
If the phone is not available
If the phone was lost or broken, or the app was already removed, email viyomi@app4everyone.com with the parent's name and one of the contacts' numbers. The family will be deleted within 30 days at most, and you will get a reply once it is done.
What is deleted
- The parent's details: name and form of address, and, if they were entered, how to say the name and the phone number.
- The contacts: names, phone numbers and how the alert reaches each of them.
- The settings: the daily time, the grace period, Shabbat mode and its city, and any pause.
- The history of presses and days, the log of messages and calls, and the record of each round of calls.
- Details of the phone: maker, model, Android version, app version and notification ID.
- The contacts' opt-out links, and any unused codes for moving to a new phone.
- The state of the paid version, and the purchase token of a Google Play subscription, if there is one.
What is kept, and for how long
- Crash reports in Firebase Crashlytics are kept by Google for up to 90 days. They contain no names and no phone numbers, only the kind of fault, the device model and the app version.
- Messages and calls already sent before the deletion remain with the people who received them, and in the SMS and call providers' records under their own policies.
- Purchase records of a Google Play subscription are kept by Google, under its own policy.
- Apart from these, nothing is kept after deletion.
Even without deletion, day records, the log of messages and calls, and the record of each round of calls are deleted automatically after 90 days.
A contact who wants to stop receiving messages
The first message a contact receives carries an opt-out link. Open it and confirm, and the number is removed at once, from the calls too. A request to the same email address works too, and a number in the US or Canada can also reply STOP to any message, though that stops the SMS only.
